Happy National Day to our Laotian friends! 🇱🇦
Lao PDR received the baton of ASEAN Chairmanship from Indonesia at the closing of the 43rd ASEAN Summit on 7 September 2023 in Jakarta, indicating the transfer of ASEAN Chairmanship for 2024.
Lao's Chairmanship in ASEAN 2024 will have the theme "Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience". This theme aligns with Lao's promise to build and achieve a more connected and resilient ASEAN.

The EU recognises the importance of youth inclusion in policy and decision-making processes. In 2022, the Youth Action Plan was first introduced as an effort to do so.
