HIGHLIGHTS OF EU COOPERATION

Formulation and Adoption of the Multiannual Indicative Programme (MIP) for EU – Indonesia Cooperation 2021-2027.

High-level visits by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell and Executive Vice President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal Frans Timmermans signified Indonesia as a crucial partner for the EU.

Establishment of new projects on priority areas such as the green transition (SWITCH Asia project on low carbon-rice production) and in support of Team Europe’s COVID-19 response in the country.

Adoption of the EU Roadmap for Engagement with Civil Society 2021-2025, in agreement with missions of EU Member States in Indonesia.

From 2022, a Bilateral Cooperation Facility will support the EU Indonesia partnership. It will:

Promote policy dialogue on issues of joint interest

Enhance dialogue with civil society organisations

Strengthen strategic communication and public diplomacy
