He hopes that the programme can continue to provide better education opportunities for students all over ASEAN, as he has experienced its benefits firsthand!

Do you remember the ASEAN Customs Transit System (

Do you remember the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS)? The ACTS is a driving force for regional integration, as it simplifies the movement of goods across the ASEAN region, making it more efficient and cost-effective 🚚✈️🚢

The system could also support the pandemic recovery process by accelerating movement of medical supplies within the ASEAN region!

The first ACTS live movement of 2022 occurred earlier this month 🎉 The movement of goods started on 15 January in Malaysia 🇲🇾, passed through Thailand 🇹🇭 and arrived safely in Cambodia 🇰🇭 on 18 January.

ACTS is currently operational in six ASEAN Member States. Can you guess which ones they are?

GIs help protect goods that originated from a certain region and guarantee the quality and authenticity of such goods.

In ASEAN, the EU works to increase the value of GIs through the development of the ASEAN GI Database and capacity building seminars!

Remember the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS)?

Remember the ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS)?

Officially launched in 2020, the ACTS was developed with the technical and financial support of the EU. The system facilitates seamless cross border transfers of goods across ASEAN countries, making the process faster, cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

The system was made possible through a series of trainings, coordination and cooperation among Customs department across ASEAN.

One of the participants of these trainings was Mr Thanomsith Khaophibane, Deputy Chief of Friendship Bridge 1 Customs Check-point, who said that "the ACTS would be impactful for security advancement and tracking of a truck's journey".
