First introduced to the public in 2019 as Climate Diplomacy Weeks, this initiative has become a landmark annual event where the EU Delegations and embassies of the EU Member States around the world host events to foster dialogue and cooperation on climate change. Re-named “Green Diplomacy Weeks” as of this year, the event still aims to serve as a platform showcasing success stories and inspire further actions.

In the capital of Brunei Darussalam, 112 youth volunteers from universities, government agencies and the general public gathered to clean up the river and river bed at Kampong Sungai Siamas. The clean-up activity managed to collect over 1356.5 kg of trash.

Held on Saturday, 21 October 2023, the event was coordinated by the EU-Brunei Partnership Facility and Green Brunei, a local organisation working to increase awareness about climate change.
