Delegation of the European Union to ASEAN, Erasmus alumni and high-school students from Banten, Tangerang visited the Tanjung Burung Bank Sampah (Tabur Banksa) to learn more about the Waste Bank initiative and its role in managing waste.

Held on 21 October 2023, the Waste Bank Tour event was part of a series of events in the region to celebrate the EU Green Diplomacy Weeks 2023. First introduced to the public in 2019 as Climate Diplomacy Weeks, this initiative has become a landmark annual event where the EU Delegations and embassies of the EU Member States around the world host events to foster dialogue and cooperation on climate change. Re-named “Green Diplomacy Weeks” as of this year, the event still aims to serve as a platform showcasing success stories and inspire further actions.

Over 100 students participating in this event had the opportunity to also engage in a discussion with the representatives of Erasmus alumni, representative of the District Agency of the Environmental ministry, and the representative of the waste bank management to discuss current environmental challenges and how they can contribute to the solution.
