Young Stewards of Nature

The young stewards of nature campaign will provide a two-day training to build environmental awareness of the children of the Aurora indigenous community in the Sitio Mainit Barangay Calancusan in Casiguran.
Time and Venue
When: 21-22 October 2023 / 1.30 – 3.30 pm (Myanmar time)
Where: Online
The two-day programme will engage a total of 40 children between the ages of 8 to 12 in a series of interactive workshops divided into three modules

Batang Bayani (Young Hero) | This module specifically focuses on helping children develop healthier self-esteem by helping them appreciate their individual strengths and uniqueness as well as exude a positive attitude towards challenges they may encounter in addressing an environmental challenge. | Self-esteem, Growth Mindset, Goal-setting |
Batang Kali (Young Steward of Nature) | This module specifically focuses on helping children develop empathy, respect, and love for nature by increasing their awareness on biodiversity, climate change, and waste management. | Environmental Awareness, Citizenship, Agency, Problem-solving skills |
Batang Makabayan (Young Patriot for Nature) | This module focuses on equipping children with the knowledge, skills and mindsets to be able to be good and productive stewards of nature and to address an environmental challenge in their community. | Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, Empathy |
