Biodiversity and Me at Pu Mat forest

First introduced to the public in 2019 as Climate Diplomacy Weeks, this initiative has become a landmark annual event where the EU Delegations and embassies of the EU Member States around the world host events to foster dialogue and cooperation on climate change. Re-named “Green Diplomacy Weeks” as of this year, the event still aims to serve as a platform showcasing success stories and inspire further actions.

In Viet Nam, the initiative will be implemented by a local youth organisation, Save Vietnam’s Wildlife.  One of the finalists of the EU-ASEAN Youth Sustainable Project Competition 2022, SVW has been working closely with the communities around Pu Mat forest on biodiversity conservation and climate change.  Under the umbrella of EU-ASEAN Green Diplomacy Weeks 2023, SVW supported by the Delegation of the European Union to ASEAN and the Delegation of the European Union to Lao PDR will engage the students of the indigenous community living on the border of Pu Mat forest in an event called, ‘Biodiversity and Me at Pu Mat Forest’.  Comprising interactive presentations and educational games, the event aims to build the children’s awareness of the importance of maintaining the forest’s sustainability as part of the overall climate change mitigation strategy.
